FDC’S Amuriat charged at Mbarara Magistrate court, released on Bail.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Presidential flag bearer and party president Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat has on Friday afternoon been charged and released on released on bail at Mbarara Magistrate court.

Amuriat appeared before the Mbarara magistrate’s court Godwin Tumuhimbise who granted him a non cash bail of two million ugandan shillings following his arrest on Friday morning at Bushenyi – Rubirizi border as he headed to Rubirizi district for campaigns.

He was charged with disobedience of lawful orders and released on bail. he will now be required to appear before the same court of 18th January 2021

The case follows a bodoboda registration number UEX 650D he was traveling on knocked down Mbarara District Police commander (DPC) SP Rutagiira John in Isingiro road as he tried to head to Kakyeeka Stadium where he was scheduled to hold a camapaign meeting.

Speaking after his release Eng. Amuriat said that attack on them and the charges against him is only meant to embarrass and intimidate them by the ruling government which he says doesn’t want to leave power.

He asserted that government failed in full filing their motive since because his resolve, spirit is very strong and he will continue with the struggle of unseating the ruling government despite the embarrassment and intimidation.
