FDC dismisses its national mobilizers Ingrid, 2 others for contesting as independents

Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has dismissed its National mobiliser Ingrid Turinawe Kamateneti and two others who opted to contest as independent candidates on various positions in Rukungiri district.

The other two dismissed FDC members include Ms Winnie Babihuga and Mr. Tweyambe Darius

According to letter addressed to Rukungiri FDC chairperson authored by the party secretary general Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi any member of the party who campaign for an independent or otherwise shall also be dismissed from the party.

“As per Article 12(d) if a member joins another party or in an election, stands as an independent ceases to be a member of FDC.

The FDC members and party structures of Rukungiri are only to solicit for support for FDC candidate.

Any member of the party who campaigns for an independent or otherwise shall be dismissed from the party.” Read the statement in parts

The state also named their candidates as Dr. Wallen Nuwagaba Tumwine for rukungiri municipality MP, Hon. Betty Muzanira for Woman Mp, Mr. Charles Mohuru for Mayor Rukungiri Municipality, Hon. Fred Turyamuhweza for Rujumburo constituency seat and Mr. Namanya Noboth for Rubobo county.

Nandala also directed that all independent candidates should immediately stop using the FDC sign and colors if not they shall advise the electoral commission to disqualify them.
