Journalists to hold their general assembly, elections this saturday

Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) will this saturday 12, december hold its general assembly and election at their headquarters in Kawempe divison, Kampala.
According to the press statement issued by the Association’s general secretary Bayola Moses Muwonge, only members who have fulfilled their obligation will be allowed to participate in the activities.
“The Meeting is in line with the Association’s  constitution which requires only the eligible members to assemble and engage in health discussions on issues touching their Association.

During the same Meeting, elections for the new Association leadership will take place.
The Meeting will be held in relation to the election’s roadmap that was released in October this year. ” read the statement in parts


Bayola also said that all the required standard operating precedures will be followed to protect conveners from being infected with corona virus.
“Given the prevailing corona virus pandemic threat,It is very important to note that all the Standard Operating Procedures (SoP’s) by the Ministry Of Health shall be observed for the safety of all conveners.
Members are therefore kindly requested to observe time, SoP’s including wearing masks as well as carrying with you all the necessary valid membership identification cards for proper identification. ” the statement.
