National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has said that he is not going to attend the meeting he has been summoned to by the electoral commission chairperson Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama on Monday at 10am to explain why he keeps flouting the electoral guidelines and standard operating procedures against covid19.
In an interview with NBS TV on Friday evening, Bobi Wine said he is going to write to the electoral commission over the same delegating his representative since he has limited time to campaign.
He said he will only attend in person on condition that the elections will be extended for more days
On Friday Justice Byabakama wrote to Robert Kyagulanyi presidential flag bearer for National Unity Platform (NUP), Patrick Amuriat Oboi flag bearer for Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Peter Mugema candidate for Iganga Municipality MP seat and mininister for corporative also candidate for Kyotera county MP Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo asking them to appear at Eectoral Commission offices on Monday 14 at 10am and 11am respectively and in person without fail to explain why they breach SOPs against Covid19.
Bobi wine also decried of the unfairness by the Electoral commission chairperson Justice Byabakama since it’s his camp whose rights are being violated by being stopped from holding his campaign meetings and his supporters being brutalized and teargased.
He added that he has been stopped to campaign so far in 27 districts by security agencies but even after petitioning Justice Byabakama he has so far shamelessly addressed none.
He asserts that it’s not his crime nor with in his mandate to control the love people have towards him.
