The National Unity Platform (NUP) President and former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has instructed his to withdraw his election petition challenging President Yoweri Museveni’s victory in the just concluded 2021 elections.
Bobi Wine revealed the news during the Monday morning press conference at the party headquarters in Kamwokya, Kampala.
Bobi Wine gave Bias by the supreme court which he code named the “Owiny Dollo’s court ” as the reason for the withdraw of the petition.
He says now the matter has been taken to the court of public opinion since from the look of things the Supreme Court is compromised by incumbent president Museveni.
He however said that they don’t intend to use any violent means to over throw president Museveni like he did to overthrow Milton Obote through a gorilla war after losing an election in the 1980’s.
Meanwhile, on Sunday the National Resistance Movement (NRM) lawyers led by Oscar Kihika warned Bobi Wine against withdrawing the election petition.
Kihika said that any attempt for Bobi Wine to do so, he will be condemned to payment of the resultant costs.
