Just last week Kiira Motors working with Luweero industries, a Military institution show cased Kayoola Diesel Coach aiming at operating within the Kampala city.
Kiira Motors Corporation “plans” to produce 1,030 buses this year. The buses will be supplied to Tondeka Bus Service to operate in Kampala City
However the Kayoola Diesel bus adds to a number of vehicle that has been produced and showcased by Kiira motors but never hit the road after the street shows. They include: Kayoola Solar Bus, Kayoola EVS, Kiira EV, Kiira EV Smack and Kiira EVS.
One wonders why such “good” Uganda made vehicles never hit the market and/or seen operating on the streets of the country if indeed they are not only targeting to siphon money from government in the name of budget for the company’s operation and innovations.
Case in point is the Kayoola solar bus which was produced and launched by president Museveni in 2016 but to date the vehicle is not operational.
This explains why the Kayoola diesel coach like other kiira made vehicles comes at the budget time to try hoodwink government so that they are given more money to squander. Kiira motors should be put to task to account for the billions of money they have received over many years and yet they have nothing to show for it.
According to the above its evident that the Kiira Motors street shows only target budget but not results of developing the innovation industry and having their vehicles up and running.
