Buganda road grade one magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu has remanded troubled Kawempe North Member of Parliament elect Muhammmad Ssegirinya to Kitalya prison up to 8th, April, 2021.
Ssegirinya was charged with inciting violence at mini price in Kampala on Monday afternoon where he was arrested from thus spending a night at central police station in Kampala.
Ssegirinya denied the charges but his bide to apply for bail through his lawyer Shamim Malende failed since it was denied to him.
After his remand, Ssegirinya narrated to journalists how he was unwell since he was purportedly tortured during his arrest and that he failed to sleep while in CPS cells due to unbearable conditions in there.
He appealed to fellow MPs elect and National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters not to cease demanding for their president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine purported victory and demand for unconditional release of the NUP members held incommunicado.
His remand comes days after he was dragged to court by Sulaiman Kindandala, one of the people he contested against on the Kawempe North seat for using fake Academic papers.
Ssegirinya was arrested on Monday at Mini Price in Kampala demonstrating together with others demanding for unconditional release of the NUP members held incommunicado and Bobi Wine’ purported victory in the just concluded 2021 elections.
