NRM CEC dumps Kadaga, fronts Oulanyah for speaker of parliament

By Hannah Marion Namukasa

The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) top organ Central Executive Committee (cec) has voted in favor of the outgoing deputy Speaker of parliament and also Omoro County MP. Jacob Oulanyah as their preferred candidate for the position of speaker in the 11th parliament.

According to credible source, Oulanyah floored the outing speaker of parliament and also the Kamuli woman MP Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga in the CEC election thus dumping her.

Now, CEC is set to communicate their position to the NRM parliamentary Caucus and rally them to elect the declared candidate in the name of Jacob Oulanyah.

It’s not yet clear whether Kadaga will trash CEC’s position and contest on the same position as an independent candidate.

Meanwhile, CEC failed to decide on the position of the deputy speaker of parliament thus forwarding three names to their parliamentary Caucus to decide on Hon. Anita Amongi and Hon. Thomas Tayebwa and Hon.Rwakoojo Robinah
