On a Thursday morning the Chief Justice of Uganda Alphonse Owing Dollo with his delegation and religious leaders met with the Buganda kingdom Katikiro (Premier) Charles Peter Mayiga and other kingdom official with an aim of the Chief justice to tender in his apology to the Kabaka of Buganda and his subjects.
In his address to the media after the meeting, the Buganda Katikiro Charles peter Mayiga he commended the Chief Justice Owiny Dollo for his humility he exhibited since his going to Bulange, the Buganda kingdom headquarters is an expression of humility he appreciated very much.

“I commend him for being courageous. For him to acknowledge something that didn’t go well with others requires a lot of courage.
In Buganda we say friendship follows a fight (Omukwano guva mu Ngabo). He came as a friend and he is going as a brother.
I urge all Ugandans to leave what was said behind us. The people of Buganda and those of Acholi have more in common than what divides.
We should give Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah a befitting sendoff next week well knowing that we have undertaken this process.
There is nothing more that needs being done. We just need go move forward. Deepen our friendship and unity amongst all of Ugandans.
I want to thank the members of the Inter Religious Council who are here with us. I want to thank the Chief Justice’s entourage. “Said Katikiro Mayiga
In the same way, the chief Justice Owiny Dollo said that the meeting was meaningful and abundantly successful

“It’s important to sit down together, discuss with one another and find a common ground like we did. We put aside and behind us the things that could put us apart and dwell on huge common interest for common purpose that bring us together
I want to report that this meeting was meaningful and abundantly successful, we leave here knowing that we are closer than we were before. My appeal to the people of Uganda is to sit together to resolve whatever differences we may have.” Said Chief Justice Owiny Dollo.
“I made a wrong and inappropriate reference to His Majesty, the Kabaka of Buganda. I hereby enequivocally, unreservedly and of my free volition, wholly retract that reference and also hereby tender my apology to His Majesty the Kabaka” Chief Justice apologized
The chairperson episcopal conference Joseph Anthony Zziwa prayed for unity among Ugandans saying it’s the only way to transform our country.
The two teams were engaged in a one hour meeting which was attended by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, chairperson episcopal Conference, Joshua Lwere for the episcopal conference among other religious leaders, and chief justice Owinyi Dollo was in company of former UPC party president Dr Olara Otunu despite the media was not allowed to access this meeting.
It should be recalled that the Chief Justice, while speaking at the requiem service for the fallen speaker of Parliament said Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutebi, last year while sick, was flown to German in a Presidential Jet which wasn’t true since the Kabaka used a Dutch KLM commercial airline.
He also complained that NUP supporters who protested against Oulanyah’s treatment in Seattle were from the cultural group whose leader was flown freely in such a Jet insinuating that they were Buganda before referring to them as imbeciles who Official at Mengo have failed prevail over.
