Prominent and legendary music producer Kayiwa Mukasa Paddy alias PaddyMan of Audio one studios has revealed that the agenda behind the National Promoters Association of launching verbal attacks against local Musicians and releasing their own generated price rate card for the musicians is to kill the music industry.
In an exclusive interview with this website PaddyMan said that agenda is to kill the local music industry instead of making and promoting the talents.

“The insinuations by the promoters are going to affect the industry and the economy because the artists are going to turn against promoters, they will mute promoters and promoters will go for the international artists and what will happen is Uganda’s music will die.
Question, what is the agenda behind the promoters? If you undermine or start cutting the hand that feeds you what is your agenda? You just want to kill the industry. May be they just want to get rid of the Ugandan music industry?
You are a promoter and then you start calling the artists pigs, cockroaches, dogs and so on! what’s the point?” PaddyMan questioned
Paddy Man who boasts of over 15 years’ experience in the Music business questioned what the promoters learnt from the workshop that was held in Gulu during the Covid 19 time if they can’t even respect artists.
“Promoters and Artists went to Gulu for the Workshop organized by Gen. Saleh and they were given certificates to that. Whatever they came up with we never got to know but the latest we hear from the promoters who learnt something from Gulu is negative. It doesn’t promote the industry and am attempted to think that these people were taught to destroy the industry as opposed to cooperating with the artists to build the industry. Those artists are brands and talents that take them years of practice and investments.” Said PaddyMan
Respected producer PaddyMan who says that the artists rate card list by the promoters didn’t come in good spirit since it was demeaning and humiliating some artists and worst of all accompanied with insults urged the stakeholders and the public to treat the music industry as a real business like he does takes it.
He thus urged the stakeholders in the music industry to respect each other. Adding that promoters should treat artists as brands which should not be tarnished at any one time irrespective of their history.
He, however noted that artists can do without promoters in the industry which is not the case with the promoters hence calling upon promoters to stop competing with the artist’s brands.
PaddyMan further called for unity in the Music industry since they all have a common enemy of the issues affecting them as the industry like failure by government to enforce copyright, consumers that take their products for free since even the promoters promote music not boxing thus putting it down will as well affect them.
