Omusawo Tintah to host American singer Lanie J on Metro FM this Friday

Omusawo Tintah alias Male Deogratius will this Friday at 4pm host American musician Lanie J on Uganda’s radio station Metro Fm.

Omusawo Tintah a renowned media advocate, deejay, radio producer and music director on Metro FM who also host “it’s a Friday” music program in which Lanie J is going to feature.

What you need to know about Lanie J

With the help of her agent, Lanie J held her own casting call with auditions coming from Lydia Caesar and Kid Cudi who have become very popular

today.

Excited about her writing abilities, she decided to create her own play and held a casting call to select the cast. To her success, LANIE J sold out 2 shows and was determined to put the play on the road. Lanie J knew she was destined for greatness she knew she had so many talents and was just trying to figure out how her unique and different talents can get her in the door.

An opportunity presented itself to where Lanie was able to start writing music and being in the studio with artist that were in artist development.

From an early age, LANIE J knew she wanted to be in the entertainment industry. Growing up in a Caribbean household, LANIE J was always around music and remembers being surrounded by her family harmonizing and singing.

Born and raised in Brooklyn- NY, LANIE J had many opportunities around her which included comedy, acting, modeling, writing and making music. Determined to find her way, LANIE J began to search for casting calls to find opportunities in acting.

LANIE J eventually hired an agent that secured her gigs in comedy clubs and being an extra in films.

Motivated to focus on her creative skills, she entered a writer casting call for Sean Hayes, the writer for the popular show Will and Grace.

Although she did not win the contest, passion for Lanie J. Motivated to showcase her talents as an Artist, After much fear and hesitation she decided to release her first single Do About It; in 2014.

Her music brings out her roots from kompa to dancehall beats with smooth rap lyrics. Reminiscent of her mentors Foxy Brown and Lil Kim, LANIE J aspires to honor these women for their impact in the music industry.

In November of 2019, LANIE J released her first EP About Time; that is filled with dancehall beats Rap/kompa Rap/Afro dancehall and has become a fan favorite on TikTok.
