As Jesus Christ the Savior reminds us His followers in John 14:2 that ; ” in my Father’s house there are many chambers, so the African Society of Association Executives (AFSAE) to the leadership teams of various professional associations on African continent.

Based in Nairobi the Kenyan capital, AFSAE is a professional community of association executives and a voice of association profession in Africa.
Following the five day week long engagement with the Ugandan professional associations and the Uganda Convention Bureau (UCB) in Kampala, the AFSAE Ugandan Chapter was formed on Friday December 8, 2023, with an objective of fostering the domestic association’s community agenda with the main forum.

The local Chapter formation was premised on democratic election of its substantive interim leadership to steer forward the ship.
As a leading strategic partner and energizer to the AFSAE Ugandan Chapter activities, the Uganda Convention Bureau (UCB), a government body mandated with marketing and promoting Uganda as a MICE destination through collaboration with private sector and other stake holders, witnessed the process and heaped appreciations to the elected team captains.

For starters, MICE is defined as Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Events. Suffice to note is that, Uganda remains among the top five tourism destinations globally, according to the study by Rough Guides, CNN and Lonely Planet, a principle that AFSAE local Chapter is jostling to ensure that it is upheld and maintained there by propelling Uganda into a leading destination globally.
Engineer Julius Ceaser Kintu from the Uganda National Institute of Professional Engineers was elected the president for AFSAE Ugandan Chapter during the process that was presided over by two of AFSAE representatives; Jeffers Miruka and Johannes Mutiku. Ms. Anita Kejaji from the Uganda Dental Association (UDA) was elected the chapter’s Secretary while Mr. Eugine Mubiru from the Uganda Manufacturing Association (UMA) was elected the Treasurer

The Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) is one of the professional associations that took part in the weeklong engagement and election.
Other associations included; the Uganda Local Government Association (ULGA), Uganda National Association of Private Hospitals, Uganda Travel Bureau 2004 (UTB), Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda, Uganda Fisheries Exporters Association, Institute of Certificate Profession of Uganda (CPA Uganda), Inter Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU), UFPEA, Uganda National Chamber of Commerce, Uganda Hotel Owners Association, Trade Association Forum and Uganda Small Scale Industries Association.

The formation of AFSAE Ugandan Chapter is an enabler to all membership based associations to find prompt linkage and interface with a wider African professional association’s community around a number of issues of mutual benefit.

In his maiden speech to the Chapter members, Engineer Kintu vowed to champion poverty alleviation from the Ugandan associations.
“I will work with the UCB to identify which opportunities to be taped in, in the first 100 days” Kintu promised members.

The smiling shaven Kintu also committed to tirelessly lead the team to ensure that constructive businesses are pulled through for their singular benefit, before he could call for their concerted efforts.
AFSAE main team representatives congratulated the Ugandan Chapter steering team, committing to ensure that its president is elevated to sit on the board to be able to time and again keep his team posted.
