Nepal Premier H.E Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda Applauses Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, Non-aligned Movement Summit.

SUMMARY; 

Sudhir Ruparelia is the honorary consul of the republic of Nepal affairs in Uganda, Napal’s economy is heavily dependent on imports of basic materials and on foreign markets for its forest and agricultural products. 

 It imports essential commodities, such as fuel, construction materials, fertilizers, metals, and most consumer goods, and exports such products as rice, jute, timber, and textiles.

The prime minister of the republic of Nepal his excellency Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda jet in the country to participate in the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Uganda.

H.E Pushpa Kamal, officially welcomed by his excellency Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia who’s the honorary consul of the republic of Nepal affairs in Uganda.

More interestingly, Dr. Ruparelia owns speke resort convention center with amazing features in the $40 million (Shs140 billion) project  in include a 3,500-seat ultra-modern auditorium, a suspended restaurant overlooking Lake Victoria, and additional presidential suites with smaller conference rooms for sideline meetings during the NAM summit.

The conference is being held at the Speke Resort and Convention Center Munyonyo, Kampala where the participating heads of state and government are staying and the Nepali delegation led by Prime Minister Prachanda is also staying at the same resort.

At the NAM sideline, non-resident Nepalis with Prime Minister Prachanda was organized at the same conference center at Sudhir’s special initiative together with the foreign minister NP Saud, foreign secretary Sewa Lamsal and other officials.

During the meeting, Nepal’s premier H.E Pushpa Kamal expressed his gratitude happiness to interact with the Nepali diaspora though it’s my first time to visit Uganda.

“It is a pleasure to meet you and you raised some important issues related to country relationship. Recently important decisions were made about visit visas and all the ambassadors were called to discuss the solution to the immigration problem who’s results will out soon”. Rama Aryal who’s the president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association Uganda, thanked the initiative to meet the leaders of her country, including the Prime minister him self to felt a sense of guardianship

The Uganda’s number one richest man and being the founder and chairman of Ruparelia Group, he has more than 200 commercial establishments operating across the country, Hotels, education, banking, real estate, clubs and etc, he has built his business empire about four decades.
Before Sudhir, It was very difficult and very far to process any official work through Nepal’s embassy in Egypt.


“The number of Nepali’s in Uganda is increased and It has been very comfortable for the Nepalis after Ruparelia was appointed as an honorary consul of Nepal in Uganda”. Said non-resident Nepali community.

In the same vein, the Nepal premier urges the global north not to walk alone on journey of prosperity saying Global north must understand that it is not only unethical and immoral but is also unsustainable to leave half of humanity excluded from the journey of prosperity.
He said, NAM must stress on the economic development and prosperity of it’s members through the timely achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and other Internationally Agreed Development Goals.

“Avoid deficit resources along with North-South and Triangular cooperation, we should also enhance South-South cooperation as many fellow NAM member state to made significant progress both in socio-economic development as well as technological advancement”. Said H.E Dahal. In his statement, NAM had been instrumental in achieving political independence, freedom, decolonization and sovereignty for many countries in the world. It has remained a backbone of hope for our dignity, pride, solidarity and cooperation.
“Am worried, although the NAM has continued to struggle for a just, equitable, inclusive, peaceful and prosperous world order, as we speak world is full of injustice, inequality, division, discord and exclusion”. Said H.E Dahal.

He explained that post-pandemic recovery remained slow, skewed, and uneven, hitting hardest the poorest and weakest segments of society. This is further exacerbated by the triple planetary crisis.
Speke Resort Convention Center Munyonyo, is a joint venture, the government and businessman Sudhir Ruparelia completed a contemporary Convention Centre at Commonwealth Speke Resort Munyonyo that is helping to host Non-aligned movement summit and G77+China head’s state.
The First Lady maama Janet Museveni recently inspected facilities and commended Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia for their commendable work in preparing the Convention Centre for Summits.
“I would like to express my appreciation to the Ruparelia Group for their commendable work in preparing the Convention Centre for these Summits. Their attention to detail and level of preparedness is truly praiseworthy,” Mrs Museveni said.

She adds that, It is crucial to conduct continuous checks on all amenities, ensuring they remain in excellent working condition not only during the Summits but also in the future.
“My visit re-affirmed our commitment to hosting successful international events, showcasing the best of what Uganda has to offer and ensuring that every guest experiences the warmth and hospitality for which our nation is known,” the First Lady assures Sudhir Ruparelia.
