Jubilations as Kampala Parents School pupils pass in division one in PLE

Uganda National Examinations Board [UNEB] registered a total of 749,254 candidates from 15,859 centres [schools] registered for primary leaving examinations [PLE] in the year 2023, among them is Kampala Parents School has once again defend its position class one, PLE for the 2023 in the country as Uganda National Examination Board released the exams, [PLE].

According to the school principal, Daphne Kato, while speaking to this [website] https://trustednewsug.com said that this year’s results are an indication that Kampala parents school provides holistic education to the pupils.

She said that all the 210 pupils in P.7 results were impressive with majority of the pupils scoring between 4-6 aggregates.

“ As the school management we want to thank our chairman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, all the parents and teachers for the work done, candidates for 2023 congratulations, you have made us proud. “ said Daphine

She added that, the working relationship with the parents, the school and children decides the final results.

“We start the year with our main strategy and keep on holding meetings to make sure that strategies are fulfilled and above all the facilities that are required are for are available.

Chairman, Dr. Sudhir and Rajiv made sure that whatever we need to provide holistic education is available and that’s why our performance is really good, so I want to argue all the parents that Kampala parents is the best school in the country.”. Said Ms Daphne.

KAMPALA PARENTS SCHOOL; is a great school with world-class facilities required by pupils to excel academically as well as promote their mental and physical growth.

The school has two well-stocked school libraries, Computer rooms with smart boards, A cookery Room with cooking facilities, A tailoring room with enough sewing machines. A swimming pool on international standards, Play field (including. Football, Basketball, Netball, etc). The school’s academic performance is at the world class standard because of the well-trained staff members who are talented in handling and disciplining pupils a key to success as witnessed by the good academic performance for many continuous years.

According to the Uganda national examinations board [UNEB] Executive Director Dan Odongo, the results, 47,452 boys were in Division One, representing 13% compared to 39,130 girls in Division One, representing 9.99%. A total of 164, 906 boys [46%] boys were in Division Two compared to 171, 601 [43%] girls. 69,870 boys [19.53%] were in grade 3 while 86,420 [22.07%] girls were in the same grade, meaning males performed better than the females. 

Odongo, while speaking at the release of the results at State House Nakasero on Thursday, January 25, 2024, said, this year girls performed better than boys in English, where 90.64% passed English compared to the boys who are 88.32% but the reverse is true for the other three subjects; SST, Science, and Mathematics.

He explains that a number of candidates in Division U is quite high, at 88,269 [10.4%] and should raise concern so that they do not just add to the statistics of school drop-outs. There are districts such as Kibuku [31.5o], Madi Okollo [31.5%], Dokolo [28.9%], Kween [28.4%], Namisindwa [28.9%] where the percentages are well above the national average. Many other districts have over 20% of the candidates in Division U. It is necessary to find out the causes.

A total of 749,254 candidates from 15,859 centres [schools] registered for PLE in 2023 compared to 832,654 in 2022. Of this number, 501,602 [66.9%] from 11,365 centres were Universal Primary Education [UPE] beneficiaries, and 247,652 [33.1] of the candidates were Non UPE.

Screening, senior One will take place on the 01 stand 2nd of February 2024. Thereafter, First Term for the Senior One cohort of 2024 will start on Monday, 19thFebruary 2024.
