Business man Ssegulani David charged with fraudulent acquisition of over 350 acres of land

Business man Ssegulani David, 60 years and a resident of Naguru Bank Village Zone, Nakawa division, Kampala district has been charged at Buganda Road Chief Magistrate court with charges of forgery and fraudulently acquisition of over 350 acres of land of the late Ibrahim Mayanja Serunjogi, in Sumba, Mpigi district.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi, Ssegulani pleaded not guilty to the four counts that include intermeddling with the estate of the deceased contrary to section 11(1) and (2) of the Administrator General’s Act, obtaining registration by false pretenses contrary to section 312 of the penal code act, forgery contrary to section 345 (d)(i)  and 347 of the penal code act cap 120 and uttering a false document contrary to section 351 and 347 of the penal code act.

However, court couldn’t proceed with the hearing of the case since the state had made amendments to the charge sheet thus asking for adjournment to enable her do a disclosure to the defense lawyer which the magistrate granted setting 17th July 2024.

State alleges that Ssegulani David and others still at large on the 25, march, 2011 at Kampala lands office in Kampala district, without being duly authorized by law or authority from the administrator general intermeddled with the property of the deceased I Ibrahim Mayanja Serunjogi by fraudulently procuring for himself a certificate of title in respect to land comprised Busiro Block 356 plot 22 and plot 23 formerly plot 14 situate of Sumba.

Ssegulani David and others still at large on the 25, march, 2011 at Kampala lands office in Kampala district, is accused of willfully procuring for himself registration on certificate of title in respect to land comprised in Busiro block 358 plot 22 and 23 formerly plot 14 situate at sumba registered under instrument number KLA 492835 by falsely pretending that he had purchased the said land whereas not so.

Also Ssegulani David is accused that on 4th November 2005 in Kampala with intent to defraud or to deceive made a false document to wit a land sales agreement in respect to land comprised in Busiro Block 358 plot 22 and 23 situate at Sumba bearing forged signatures of late Nabantanzi Faith purporting that she had signed a vendor whereas not.

Further, state asserts that the accused in the month of November 2005 in kampala lands office knowingly and fraudulently uttered a false document to wit a land sales agreement in respect to land comprised in Busiro block 358 plot 22 and 23 situate at sumba to the registrar of titles purporting the same to have been signed by the late Nabantanzi as a vendor whereas not.
