NSPC Commissioner Warns Students: ‘Sexual Promiscuity Leads Nowhere,’ Urges Focus on Education

By Kabuye Ronald

The Commissioner of the National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC) in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Dr. Brenda Tibamwenda has sent a serious warning to students over the current rise of sexual promiscuous acts which are deeply rooted in the young generation.

“I know many of you, you already have boyfriends and girlfriends but I want to assure you that there is nothing to be proud of in that regard because they are not taking you anywhere,”

“We have been focusing a lot on the girls but also the boys if you can change and do something differently because we are in bad days where men are also searching for rich women and if you don’t reform now, it is the same trend you are taking,” said Tibamwenda

Tibamwenda made the remarks during the official pass out ceremony of 87 students who completed a one week ideological and patriotism training course at Kingdom High School Gayaza on Monday where she was the Chief guest representing Commissioner Hellen Seku.

She went ahead to advise them to stick on to what brought them to school for it is the most important business than wasting their precious time doing things which do not attach value to their future.

“I want to tell you that those uniforms you are putting on right now are not important if you don’t attach any importance to them. Today you may feel so important but I want to assure you that once you are not doing a right thing you are not valuable,”

“For the girls, the school gives you long uniforms and you cut them, all your thighs are outside, let me ask you, whom are you displaying your thighs to, keep them yourselves because at the end of the day what is important is the knowledge you have acquired from class that will help you out there,”

“Let me share with you a secret, once you put on a skimpy and tight uniform to allow men around you to draw the map of your body, you are finished, the same to boys, keep your chests yourselves,” she added.

The parents too did not miss on her contentment as she inculcated them to cherish the cultural heritage and family values and our family roots if the country is to preserve its next generation of citizens.

“We have also fostered our children into bad groups in the communities as parents. They cannot stay at home because there is a monster in form of a relative in the house he/she would rather stay at school because families have become a nightmare,”

“Now where is your role as a parent. You need to provide security to our children.” Tibamwenda noted

Much as a couple of individuals are misinterpreting the whole patriotism training sessions to be an NRM breeding and recruitment academy, Tibamwenda explained that it is a Presidential initiative responsible for promotion of the right ideology in schools.

“I want to thank President Museveni who is also the Chief Patron of all patriotism clubs countrywide for he noticed it that the current crop of youth had started deteriorating and that is why he introduced patriotism training course and ideological orientation training in schools so that we produce a new breed of enlightened citizens devoted to the national cause and willing to sacrifice for the country,”

“Our role is to impart good character, knowledge and discipline to defeat ideological distortion and build the next generation of Ugandans.” added Tibamwenda

She further cautioned the patriots over poor hygiene as it has a stronger negative impact both on individual students and the overall school environment.

“If you are in a dormitory and you cannot make your bed and the whole space is dirty, this means that you don’t clean your bedsheets as well and you are going to get diseases which are dangerous to your academic and health welfare.” she revealed.

The Head teacher of the school Stella Nansubuga challenged the patriots to keep discipline for it is the only tool that will take them places at the completion of their studies.

“As young patriots, I beg you to remain focused, committed and determined to your studies, because everyone you are seeing in front of you ranging from our chief guest to the instructors, they were once like you but due to discipline, they are where you are seeing them today, ”Nansubuga cautioned

The Chief Instructor Captain Charles Mukuye assured the parents that their children were not inculcated patriotism values but also discipline and mental alertness expertise which he believes will be a strong basis for teachers ahead of their coaching roles.
