Three-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Abandoned House After Two-Day Search

By Robert Segawa
Shock and grief engulfed residents of Kitebi Zone, Mutundwe Parish in Rubaga Division after the body of a three-year-old girl who had gone missing on Monday afternoon was discovered.

It is alleged that during Monday’s lunch hours, the deceased, Nambeja Bulilian, disappeared from her mother, Nakanjala Olivia, a hairdresser at Kitebi–Star and resident of Bunamwaya–Ngobe Zone, Mutundwe Parish, Makindye Ssabagabo in Wakiso District. A disappearance case was immediately registered at Nateete Police Division, prompting an extensive search.

Tragically, on the evening of 10th December 2025, the child was found lifeless, dumped in a room inside an isolated, abandoned house that reportedly once operated as a school. According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, the body was discovered by a firewood seller who works near the premises.

Nateete Police responded swiftly, and preliminary findings indicate that the child was first defiled and later killed. The body has since been taken to Mulago Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Kawala said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the suspect(s) responsible.

“We appeal to parents and guardians to remain vigilant and exercise extra caution to ensure the safety of their children,” she added.
