In early 2024, a new face appeared on the Ugandan digital scene, armed with nothing but a pair of headphones and an explosive love for sound. Today, Steven Matovu, known to over 300,000 followers as Steve (@The Music Coner), has become the country’s most influential music reactor.
Steven’s rise wasn’t accidental. Long before the cameras were rolling, he was the fan who would scream at the top of his lungs when a song hit the right note. Recognizing that many listeners struggle to appreciate the technical effort artists put into their craft, he launched The Music Coner. His mission was clear: to use his “unmatched energy” to break down production, lyrics, and credit the masterminds behind the music.
“I wanted people to see the art, not just hear the noise,” Matovu says. Today, his slogan—“Your only Passionate Music Reactor that likes sharing latest Hits and Hidden Gems”—is a seal of quality in the Ugandan entertainment industry.
