The Rt. Rev. Bishop George Sinabulya has expressed concern over the growing number of Christians leaving the Anglican Church, calling on church leaders to address the trend before it worsens.

Bishop Sinabulya and his wife received a warm welcome from the Ven. Canon Emmanuel Sewanyana, the Archdeacon of Entebbe, together with the Parish Priest of Abaita Ababiri, Rev. Herbert Ssettumba, upon their arrival at St. Apollo Church in Abaita Ababiri Parish.
Hundreds of Anglican faithful gathered at St. Apollo Church to welcome the bishop, who had visited the parish to officiate the confirmation service for candidates from various churches within Abaita Ababiri Parish.

While delivering his sermon, Bishop Sinabulya encouraged Christians to remain rooted in the Word of God, saying that a strong understanding of Scripture helps believers grow spiritually and become responsible members of society. The 91-year-old bishop cited his own life as a testimony to the benefits of faithfully serving God.
He also emphasized the significance of the laying on of hands during confirmation and urged parents and guardians to continually remind the newly confirmed Christians of their commitment to Christ and the importance of remembering His sacrifice.

The bishop expressed concern that many young Anglicans abandon the church shortly after confirmation. He noted that although he has confirmed thousands of believers from different churches over the years, many leave the Anglican faith within less than three years to join other denominations.
“This is an issue that the Church must seriously address if we are to reverse the declining number of Anglicans,” Bishop Sinabulya said.

A total of 70 confirmands were confirmed during the service, comprising 36 girls and 34 boys. They pledged to live according to Christian values, spread the Word of God through good conduct, and remain obedient to their parents and guardians.
