Security is investigating political activists from various political parties mostly the National Unity Platform (NUP) on allegations of involvement in subversive activities locally and abroad.

According to a security source, some activists have been drumming for violence and hate speech against the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government which the authorities say is against the law.
This comes at a time when some government critics like self exiled Fred Lumbuye who is based in Turkey are busy calling Ugandans to do their best and bring the government down.
Lumbuye who Security called a Security threat is a staunch member of the NUP party and has been one of the leading supporters of NUP president, Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine from day one.

Wanted Fred Lumbuye
Last year when Lumbuye was allegedly arrested in Turkey and government moved swiftly to extradition him home to face trial, NUP sent it’s senior members who mobilised funds internationally to legally block government plans.
Security now say it’s targeting local violence promoting activists to ensure they don’t create a favourable ground for negative tendencies.
Meanwhile some of the known NUP and opposition activists who are deemed dangerous are on the watch list and operatives have been visiting their homes and contacts.

NUP and Lumbuye supporters headed by Nsubuga Latifah demonstrating against his alleged arrest in Turkey last year
Last week Security operatives visited homes of Andrew Kitonsa of DFF, Sarah Kanyike ( DFF),Robert Ssemakula( FDC), Kyuma Kyayesu Ntege(NUP) and living in Canada, Fred Ssekabemve,(NUP) and Nansubuga Latifah Ssekyondwa (NUP) for surveillance.
John Musoke a brother to Mr Ntege said that it seemed like the operatives were told that his causing had sneaked into the country which was not true.
