The Tooro Kingdom has confirmed that Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV is in a critical condition but dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the monarch has died.
In an official communication issued on Thursday, the Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, said the King’s condition was “critical” and appealed to the public to remain calm and pray for his recovery.

“This is to inform you that His Majesty King Oyo is currently in a critical condition,” the statement said.
The announcement followed growing anxiety and widespread speculation about the health of the 34-year-old monarch, with unverified reports on various social media platforms earlier claiming that he had died.
“At this difficult and deeply concerning time, we humbly ask the people of Tooro, our friends and well-wishers in Uganda and across the world to keep His Majesty in their thoughts and prayers,” the statement said.
The Kingdom also appealed to members of the public to stop spreading rumours and unverified information regarding the King’s condition.
“We equally appeal to everyone to refrain from speculation, rumours or sharing unverified information regarding His Majesty’s condition,” Prime Minister Rwomiire said.
“We understand the concern and anxiety that news of this nature will naturally cause, but we ask for calm, restraint and respect for His Majesty and the Royal Family.”

The Tooro Kingdom said further updates would be communicated through its official channels when appropriate.
“For now, we ask that we stand together in prayer for His Majesty,” the statement concluded.
Information available indicates that King Oyo is currently under the care of doctors in England as he battles the critical condition.
The Kingdom has urged the public and well-wishers to remain calm, respect the privacy of the Royal Family and rely only on official communication regarding the King’s health.
