As Uganda marks the 82nd birthday of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Treasurer Ambassador Barbara Nekesa Oundo has joined a chorus of party leaders, government officials and well-wishers in extending heartfelt birthday greetings to the President and NRM National Chairman.
In a message posted on her social media platforms on Tuesday, Amb. Nekesa Oundo paid glowing tribute to President Museveni’s leadership and wished him continued good health and wisdom.

Happy 82nd Birthday to Your Excellency,
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,
our National Chairman.
We wish you long life, good health and continued wisdom as you steer our great nation to prosperity.

The birthday message comes at a time when the NRM and the Office of the National Chairman are organising activities to mark the occasion, including a special prayer and commemorative ceremony in honour of fallen liberation fighters at the Office of the National Chairman headquarters in Kyambogo.
Amb. Nekesa Oundo, who has served as NRM National Treasurer since 2021 after previously serving as Uganda’s High Commissioner to South Africa and State Minister for Karamoja Affairs, is widely regarded within the party as a key figure in strengthening the NRM’s financial systems and organisational discipline.
Her birthday tribute to President Museveni reflects the warm and respectful tone that has characterised many of the messages pouring in from across the ruling party and the wider public. Family members, including First Lady Janet Museveni and Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, have also publicly celebrated the President’s birthday with personal messages of appreciation and good wishes.
President Museveni, born on September 15, 1944, continues to serve as both Head of State and National Chairman of the NRM. The 82nd birthday celebrations have once again highlighted the enduring respect he commands among his party cadres and supporters.
Amb. Nekesa Oundo’s message, simple yet heartfelt, underscores the unity and loyalty within the NRM as the party and the nation join in wishing the President a happy birthday and many more years of service to Uganda.
