The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) National delegates Conference has elected Mawokota County South Member of Parliament Hon. Yusuf Nsibambi as the Party Chief Whip in the Parliament of Uganda replacing the Kira municipality MP Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda.

At the delegates conference sitting at Patida Samaj sports ground Lugogo with a sole purpose of electing new National Executive committee members, Hon. Nsibambi garnered 965 votes against 8 while 9 abstained from this elections.

It should be recalled that the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among declined the letter from Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Secretary General Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi relieving the Kira Municipality MP Ssemujju Nganda of his duty as party Whip replacing him with Mawokoto South MP Hon. Yusuf Nsibambi . Speaker Among tasked the FDC Secretary General to provide evidence of the resolution of the party organs on the sacking of Ssemujju Nganda as their whip hence today’s elections.

Similarly, the party Secretary General also Budadiri East MP Hon. James Nathan Nandala Mafabi has retained his seat after going through unopposed.

Nandala said working with the incoming leaders, they are going to reunite the party by not disbanding the people’s government offices at Katonga but will ensure a single center of power at Najjanankumbi.

Commenting about the Katonga group planned attack and take over the party headquarters by force, Nandala said they should attack after saying their wills since no body is going to play with FDC before adding that he wants the Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago to lead the attack.

The party president Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi said that all the FDC party members are allowed to access the party headquarters as long as they have no intentions of causing Chaos.

Mukalazi Kibuuka, the FDC Deputy Chairman for the central region who is also chairing the delegates’ conference accused the party’s founding president. Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye Kifefe of steering up chaos in the party by raising false maligning allegations against the party president and secretary general which caused divisionism and mudslinging thus urging the delegates to ensure unity.
