In a tragic accident on the Kampala-Gulu highway, police in Luwero district have launched a manhunt for the driver of a Fuso Fighter, registration number UBN 052L, following a collision that claimed six lives. The incident occurred this evening in Sinalya village, Bombo town council, leaving five others critically injured.

The crash involved the Fuso Fighter and an omnibus (registration number UBL 502L), whose driver also died on the scene. The deceased have been identified as Mfitumukiza Rogers, Opirisa Charles, Ebong Joshua, Mugerwa Ephraim, Kato, and an unidentified female adult.
According to Sam Twineamazima, spokesperson for the Savannah region police, the Fuso driver was reportedly overtaking recklessly when it collided with the oncoming omnibus, resulting in the devastating fatalities and injuries.

Police responded swiftly, registering a case of fatal accident, and forensic officers visited the scene to document the evidence. The injured were transported to Bombo Military Hospital for urgent medical care, while the deceased were taken to Luwero Hospital mortuary for postmortem examinations. All vehicles involved in the crash have been towed to Bombo police station for inspection.
Twineamazima confirmed that efforts to locate the Fuso driver are ongoing, emphasizing that once apprehended, the driver will face charges of reckless driving. The police are urging anyone with information about the driver’s whereabouts to come forward as the investigation continues.
