Covid 19 lockdown: Govt to send mobile money as relief to vulnerable poor

The National COVID-19 Task Force has resolved that government will send mobile money as relief to the vulnerable groups/ people during the 42 day –nationwide lockdown. 

Addressing a press conference on Sunday evening, the Prime Minister designate, Robinah Nabbanja said that the money will be pay through the ministry finance using the direct payment methods.

Nabbanja said on Monday government will come up with a list of people who will receive money and the exact amount to be given to them.

The Task Force also recommended that Local Governments be authorized  to utilize the available resources to ensure a smooth implementation of the lockdown, ministry health was tasked to urgently provide the number of health workers to be recruited while all communication on the matter will be done through the ministry of information.

Essential workers will apply for car stickers online and will be issued by the Ministry of works and transport for the period of two weeks since the workers will work rotation
