By Kabuye Ronald

The National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi wine and Mityana Municipality Member of parliament Francis Zaake Butebi together with their driver have survived being shot at by the military as they tried to head to Jinja district.

Bobi wine who was scheduled to hold a campaign rally in Jinja district was diverted from the Jinja Bridge to other alternative routes where they were again blocked by the military and police from proceeding.

The above caused a scuffle which resulted into the security organs to shoot at bobi wine’ car and bullets holes are evident on Bobi wine’s car body and wind screen (front screen).

They also shot live bullets into the car tyres leading to the car’s break down.

“Our lives are in great danger! After blocking our campaign in Kayunga, on our way to the next one in Jinja, the police and military as usual blocked the main road and diverted us to a remote road. This was as if intended to set us into their convenient ‘kill spot’.

When they thought no one was watching, the police and military shot the tyres of my car and directly into our windscreen, narrowly missing Hon Zaake and my driver” said Bobi wine

Meanwhile Bobi wine has revealed that tomorrow Wednesday they will head to the electoral commission to seek explanations from the commission on who is in charge of the electoral process.

“we have suspended our campaigns and tomorrow we are going to the electoral commission to get explanations on who is in charge of the electoral process. Is it the police, army or electoral commission?!.

We need to understand why mr. Byabakama has been silent when violence is being meted on us, when our campaigns are destabilized, when our supporters are being killed, when I was abducted and stopped from campaigning in fifteen districts” said Bobi wine
