Health workers in Iganga hospital have expressed concern over the lack of Personal Protective Equipment – PPEs and medical supplies to help in the treatment of Covid 19 patients.
They argue that the shortage of the PPEs is exposing them to risks of contracting COVID-19 and lack of medical supplies like oxygen hinders them from ably treating the patients.
According to the medical officers at Iganga hospital, a covid19 patient in one night uses two to three cylinders of oxygen.

The revelation was made while the Iganga woman member of parliament Hon. Kauma Sauda was donating three gas cylinders and other PPEs to the hospital.
The Health workers led by Dr. Wako James the medical Superintendent of Iganga hospital appreciated the donations.
He however called for more support since the hospital is overwhelmed with the numbers which now stand at 270 patients and so far 19 patients have lost their lives.

Meanwhile patients suffering from other diseases in the area have reportedly abandoned their section citing fear to catch the virus.
However Health workers attributed the matter to restricted transport due lockdown
