Karenga District task force has closed the offices of Mana development Agency (MADA), a humanitarian organization operating in Karenga distict after it defied set Covid 19 guidelines.
The closure followed a meeting of the district taskforce and other leaders where it was decided to close the offices of MADA for 14 days to enable them fumigate and also test all staff for covid19.

The decision followed the refusal by two MADA officials who tested positive for Covid 19 on Thursday last week but refused to isolate themselves from the public.
The District Health officer for Karenga, Andrew Iliko accused MADA staff OF blocking him and his health team from fumigating the all place before locking them out.
Today morning the district task force team led by the Resident District Commissioner RDC Mpimbaza Hashaka a made a surprise visit to MADA offices only to find the operating in total flout of the Covid guidelines.

The situation got tense when a one Chris Ropiyok, the organizational project manager started throwing insulting words to the taskforce.
The district task force committee also accused the organization for involving themselves in the spread of false information about covid 19 in the district.
Meanwhile the Operations manager for MADA, Chris Ropiyok denied all the accusation saying that the said staff who tested positive for covid19 are on home based care management.
Ropiyok also said they got permission from the DISO to enable them complete filing reports and the recruitment execrise that had started earlier.
