Arise now Uganda or forever sleep

By Grace Nakikayira

I reminisce as we used to take pride in the Pearl of Africa, how we used to sing sweet songs and praises for our mother land but this is all a dream that might never come true. I am now reverting all this  and I admit that my thoughts were  only but chilish and naive. The heart of the  pearl just keeps hardening and growing colder as days go by.

Natives are more of vagabonds in there own land that used to flow with pure love and charity. The natural resources and every feature of the motherland is now for rent or for sale. Ugandans have nothing freely for them as natives of this mother land. To the extent that even the water that is the most essential basic need is now one of the most expensive commodity in my mother land. The poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer at the stake of the tax payers.

They said to us,”we shall privatize to create opportunities to the Ugandans” instead they sealed off all chances for the Ugandan child. They wanted to increase revenue they said, but all this revenue goes to the Asians who are the current investors in my motherland. The children of the motherland are becoming more vulnerable than ever before due to the ineffective policies.

Places of worship that were once our places of refuge and reconciliation are now a mere myth to the politicians and scientists of today who treasure the philosophies of today more than the reality of the of the almighty God.

The schools and learning centres remain closed yet the generation that will run the system of this so called Pearl of Africa  are at home learning nothing and forgetting all things. Uganda, what happened to this pearl?!, that you used to be.

The Bible says, Matthew 7:6 “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Arise now Uganda, for the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. Isaiah 60

The Lord has spoken not once but you remain adamant. He sent his Prophets, pastors, Evangelists, teachers and apostles but you have only mocked them and heed to politicians and scientists like Fauci to continuously trample on the Pearl that so gloriously shone at one time.

Arise now Uganda or forever sleep as you are partioned and shared among scientists and politicians.
