Sabasi Byakika 65, who is suspected of having hacked his wife to death has surrendered himself to Kiira region police authorities after spending days in hiding.
Sabasi a resident of Buwala A village, Butagaya Sub- county in Jinja district is said to have hacked his wife Deborah Naigaga 60 years to death on Friday following a heated argument and fled into hiding.
Naigaga succumbed to bleeding after sustaining injuries on the head and neck and her body was retrieved by the neighbors who said the couple was embroiled in endless fights and efforts to reconcile them didn’t produce results.
According to our reliable source who preferred anonymity, Byakika on Monday surrendered to police and confessed to the crime but insisted that he never intended to kill his wife.
