Bobi Wine’s security guard, gardener, supporters arrested

By Mukembo Wilfred

Security officials who are heavily deployed at the home of the National Unity Platform NUP president Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine in Magere, Wakiso district have reportedly arrested the gardener, supporters and the security guard of Bobi Wine.

In his Facebook post Bobi Wine said that security officials didn’t stop at violently arresting the two and other young men in the area but also confiscated their phone.

”The military has increased deployment around my home. No one is allowed to leave or enter. Our security guard and gardener have been violently arrested, beaten and bundled into ‘drones’ parked outside our gate. Their phones have been confiscated. Other young men in the area are being arrested and taken away in mobile prisons.” Posted Bobi Wine

On Tuesday early morning there has been heightened security deployment in various parts of Kayunga district and at Bobi Wine’s home ahead of the LC5 chairperson by-elections scheduled for Thursday this week.

It was anticipated that Bobi Wine was to join the NUP candidate Harriet Nakwedde on her last rally just like Museveni is expected to campaign for the NRM candidate Andrew Muwonge but the area resident district commissioner Ssempala Kigozi dared Bobi Wine not to step a feet to Kayunga since he is unwelcome.
