She adds that 198 samples out 439 were collected and tested for Covid 19 and the results were all negative but 58 of them were tasted for  Influenza A positive and 2 were tasted for Influenza B positive.

Kadducu says the same scenario of such symptoms happened from other schools of different districts which confirms the outbreak of Influenza A and B in the country fortunately the virus has not yet reached on it’s pick to affect learners

However, she appealed to school authorities to continue observing SOPs and practice double shifting to avoid overcrowding at schools.

“Since the results didn’t indicate severe symptoms of Covid 19 such as loss of smell, loss of tastes, respiratory failure among others the government is still monitoring the situation and will always update the public over the matter” Kadducu added.

She further disclosed that younger learners appear to have a higher attack rate as compared to older learners. And more cases, the illness has between mild and mode rate with no signs of severe respiratory illness, and it was further noted that the illness run a self limiting course.
