Local pharmaceutical manufacturers urged to boost innovation

The Uganda National Drug Authority has implored Local Pharmaceutical Manufacturers to boost innovation and production of essential, efficacious and good quality medicines.

The call has been made by the acting Director, Quality Control Development at the National Drug Authority Annette Senkindu.

Senkindu said the innovations will foster the growth of local industry, improve public confidence in the locally manufactured products. In addition to reducing turnaround times for the approval process, ensuring resource optimization, efficiency and enhancing exportation.

Sekindu added that the innovations will strengthen the government efforts of the country’s campaign of buying Uganda building Uganda.

She was speaking at a 2 day National Drug Authority- Pharmaceutical Quality Control Convention in Kampala.
