TV Producer Mukisa to drag Baba TV to court over 20M arrears

By Hannah Marion Namukasa

A senior producer at Baba TV, Daniel Mukisa has served Baba TV management with a document of intention to sue over his seven months arrears amounting to 20 million shillings inclusive of general damages and legal fees.

According to Mukisa, he claims that he was dismissed from duty after demanding for his payment.

Through Elgon Advocates and Co., Mukisa wants Baba TV to clear all his salary arrears and also give a clear explanation as to why he was suspended from work without a reason.

“It’s well within your knowledge that our client has not been paid his salary for the last seven months which has accumulated to 7,500,000/=.

You are also required to pay UGX 12,000,000/= as general damages for unlawful termination of our clients employment and all the unpaid NSSF.

Failure to meet the above demand including our legal fees of UGX 1,000,000/=, our stern instructions are to commence legal action against you at your own cost and peril.” Reads the demand notice in parts.

Source has it that Baba TV got a new CEO, Alice Namatovu, who allegedly her target is to suspend all the old staff members and recruit new ones.
