Police officer Adei shoots dead married couple

Police at Jinja road are holding 35 years old police Constable on allegations of murder involving two individuals in Ntinda police barracks in Nakawa division.

The suspect in custody is Adei Alex attached to Counter terrorism who opened the fire and killed on the spot her x -girl friend  one Kongai Babra aged 32 years and police Constable Tusiime Seeze of the same department.

The incident occurred last evening at Ntinda Police Barracks.

It is alleged that PC Adei entered the residence of Kongai Babra and opened fire on her new boyfriend PC Tusiime, who was inside the house at the time. He later shot at Kongai Babra as she attempted to flee the scene.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesperson PC Adei subsequently fled but was apprehended by police officers and is now in custody at Jinja road police station on allegations of murder .

The Preliminary findings indicate that PC Adei and Kongai Babra were previously married but had separated due to domestic issues and got married to PC Tusiime of the same department.

Owoyesigyire added that police have recovered the firearm used in the incident, along with 12 rounds of ammunition. 

The two bodies  have been conveyed to the City Mortuary at Mulago as investigations are ongoing. 

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. The Uganda Police Force is committed to ensuring that justice is served.” Said  Owoyesigyire
