His Excellency, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has appointed Hajat Sharifah Buzeki as the new Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority KCCA, with Mr. Benon Kigenyi designated as her Deputy. The appointments have been forwarded to the Public Service for formalization.

Once the necessary procedures are completed, the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet will officially confirm the appointments.
This significant move was confirmed by Deputy President Press Secretary, Hajji Farouk Kirunda, who congratulated Hajat Buzeki and Mr. Kigenyi for catching the eye of the Appointing Authority.
Ms Buzeki has been the Commissioner of Human Resource Management at the Ministry of Public Service.

Ms Buzeki holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Management, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences all obtained from Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU).

She has also attended numerous skills-enhancing courses and obtained certificates in conflict management, leadership and change management, monitoring and evaluation, training of trainers and facilitation skills; among others.
Their new roles are expected to bring positive change to the administration of KCCAUG.
The two positions fell vacant after the President sacked Ms Dorothy Kisaka and her deputy David Luyimbazi Ssali over negligence related to the collapse of Kiteezi landfill that caused the death of more than 30 people in August 2024.
