The Uganda Police Force has officially confirmed that a total of 11,897 successfully shortlisted Probationer Police Constables (PPCs) have been selected to undergo a nine-month intensive police training across three designated Police Training Schools in the country.

Speaking to the media, Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke said the selected recruits will report to their respective training schools on Monday, July 7, 2025. The training institutions include:
Police Training School Kabalye in Masindi District, Police Training School Olilim in Katakwi District, Police Training School Ikafe in Yumbe District
According to Kituuma, the list of the successful candidates, along with their assigned training schools, has been displayed at all District Police Headquarters, Division Police Stations, and Regional Police Offices across the country.

The recruitment process began with an advert published on March 10, 2025, in various media outlets. The selection interviews were conducted between April 28 and May 5, 2025. Out of 41,378 applications received, 17,174 applicants were initially shortlisted for interviews, culminating in the final selection of 11,897 candidates deemed eligible for training.
“All selected PPCs are required to transport themselves to the assigned training school,” said Kituuma. He also emphasized that each recruit must report with specific personal items, including:
Original and photocopies of academic documents, Four passport-size photos, A 3×6 mattress (maximum 4 inches thick), Two blue pens, Three counter books, Two pairs of bed sheets, A pair of gumboots, A pair of canvas shoes, A tracksuit and two T-shirts for physical exercise, A mosquito net Other essential personal effects
He issued a strong warning to all candidates to avoid presenting any fake academic documents, particularly those from Nasser Road, a notorious hub for forged papers.
“Once caught with forged academic papers, you will not be sent home. Instead, you will be arrested and handed over to the nearest police station to face legal action,” Kituuma cautioned.
The Police Force urged all successful candidates to take the opportunity seriously as it marks the beginning of their law enforcement careers, and to prepare for a disciplined and rigorous training program that will shape them into professional officers.
