President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate, has revealed ambitious plans to attract investors to establish an avocado plantation and an industrial park in Kyaka, Kyegegwa District.

Addressing supporters during an NRM presidential campaign rally at Sooba Primary School playgrounds, Museveni said the initiative is part of the party’s broader strategy to boost job creation, expand production, and accelerate macro-economic growth.

Museveni advised residents to take advantage of the expanding job opportunities in commercial agriculture, services, and skills-based enterprises, citing the success of graduates from the Presidential Zonal Industrial Skilling Hubs.

He further announced the signing of contracts for the construction of the Kazo–Burunga–Mpara–Kyegegwa–Karuguza road and confirmed the commencement of works on the Kibura–Bwizi road. According to him, these developments reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to aligning the national budget with key development priorities.

The NRM candidate also pledged improved water distribution for both domestic and production use in Kyegegwa District and promised enhanced healthcare services through the upgrading of existing health facilities and the construction of new ones.

Museveni highlighted the progress made in electricity distribution in the district and commended residents for embracing coffee farming. He encouraged them to diversify their income-generating activities for sustainable wealth creation.

He reiterated his directive that wealthy individuals should leave Parish Development Model (PDM) funds for the intended beneficiaries—the poor—so they too can improve their livelihoods. Museveni urged aspiring wealth creators to emulate the successful examples he showcased during the rally.
