City businessman and philanthropist Dr Sudhir Ruparelia has been appointed a Patriotic Officer by the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), the political pressure group chaired by Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Ruparelia has been assigned Patriotic Officer number PO/198, according to a notice issued by PLU General Secretary Hon Twalla Fadil.
The notice indicates that Gen Muhoozi approved the designation of the new members and congratulated them upon receiving their Patriotic Officer numbers.
The newly appointed officers were also urged to discharge their responsibilities with “diligence, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to PLU and our Motherland.”

Ruparelia, who is among Uganda’s leading businessmen and philanthropists, was named alongside several other prominent Ugandans in the latest list of PLU Patriotic Officers.
Among those listed are:
- PO/195 – Hon Minister Sarah Nakawuki
- PO/198 – Dr Sudhir Ruparelia
- PO/202 – Hon Kinoberе Herbert Tom
- PO/229 – Dr Gilbert Tuhaire
- PO/243 – Prophet Vincent Museveni
- PO/244 – Mr Jackson Tusumisiime
- PO/250 – Mr Ronald Bills Agaba
- PO/256 – Mr Charles Cherukut
- PO/273 – Eng. Okanya Boniface
- PO/287 – Mr Geoffrey Beinomugisha Kukunda
- PO/300 – H.E. Dr Gilbert Bukenya
The latest designations cover Patriotic Officer numbers ranging from PO/183 to PO/300, representing 118 newly designated officers.

Ruparelia’s appointment adds a prominent figure from Uganda’s private sector to the expanding list of individuals being associated with Gen Muhoozi’s PLU.
His inclusion is notable given his longstanding profile in business, investment and philanthropy, areas in which he has established himself as one of Uganda’s best-known entrepreneurs.
The designation comes amid growing public attention around PLU and the prominent Ugandans being brought into its network through the Patriotic Officer system.
