Kampala Central Police Station is holding Paul Nsubuga, MP-elect Busiro North on National Unity Platform card, on allegations of theft of a mobile phone itel 5625 silver in colour worth Shs80,000.
According to the press statement issued by the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the stolen phone simcard had Airtel mobile money Shs4.5million.
He says the matter was reported by Gloria Namengo, a businesswoman and a resident of Kawempe Division in Kampala City.
According to Namengo, on 3rd June 2019 at around 1pm at Inseria properties Nakasero opposite Shoprite Entebbe Road Paul Nsubuga stole the transaction mobile phone mentioned above.
The incident was captured by the CCTV cameras installed in the shop.
“The suspect was arrested yesterday from Serena Hotel Kampala, he is detained at Central Police Station on allegations of theft. Investigations are still ongoing as we have also ascertained that a lot of victims have come out to complain about the same person that he used the same trick to steal their phones and money stored on mobile money system.
The suspect’s file will be taken to the Resident State Attorney to legal advice as soon as statements are recorded.” said Luke
