Electoral Commission EC is set to organize by-elections to fill vacant positions of all missing elected leaders at local government level that fall vacant due to various reasons in all the districts of Uganda.
According to Emmanuel masiko, the election head for eastern region, the commission has already secured the funds which has also been sent to the districts to enable them conduct by-elections and fresh elections where elections where not conducted.
Masiko, has now urged the public to stay calm since the process is almost due since elections will be conducted in less than a month after the conclusion of the election petitions.
Masiko narrated that after elections, some of the winners dumped their positions for bigger offices and opportunities while others lost their lives hence the positions falling vacant.
