Uganda’s president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed opposition Democratic party president Nobert Mao, the new Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
This is according to a communication by President Museveni on Thursday afternoon.
The appointment comes hours after DP’s president general Norbert Mao and the party Secretary General Leader signed a memorandum of understanding with President Museveni on Wednesday afternoon.
Mao has led the country’s oldest party for the past eleven years.
Others appointed in the mini reshuffle include Hamson Obua as Government Chief Whip, Akello Beatrice as Minister for Economic Monitoring while Peter Ogwang has been appointed Minister of State for Education and Sports.
