Following a nasty incident at Nabweru magistrate court, in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso district where on Thursday Morning, Two journalists Brian Membe Mubiru of Bukedde and Muganga Brian Kivumbi of News 24/7 were attacked and beaten by a mob led by the plaintiff in the case, a one Muyinza Joseph together with his lawyers of Bloom advocates led Edgar Kakoma while filming at the court premises, the umbrella body for journalists Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) has broken silence on the matter.

The journalist’s body through its spokesperson Kabuye Ronald has not only condemned the human rights violation act but also revealed that they have instructed their lawyers to take legal action against the culprits.
“UJA condemns any kind of beastly acts, human rights violations against journalists and the general public.
We have instructed our legal team to take relevant legal action against the offenders as a deterrent measure against future human rights violations.” Said Kabuye in a statement
In the scuffle they did not only beat the journalists but also Vandalized Muganga Brain Kivumbi’s camera.
However, one of the errant lawyer Edgar Kakoma from Bloom advocates who also participated in the beating of journalists emphasized that they will not pay for anything.
“We are not going to pay for anything” he said.
