Two men believed to be a gay couple have been banished from Kaazi Village, Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality, Wakiso district after they narrowly survived being lynched to death by the mob of residents.

According to various eyewitnesses, the two identified as Fred Ssenabulya and Mujuzi Christopher aged around 27 years both residents of Kaazi for long they were suspected of engaging in the sodomy acts due to their weird behaviors until on the 3rd, January, 2023 when some residents incited their fellow residents against them thus descending their wrath of anger to the two leaving them severely injured.
Some eyewitnesses asserted that the residents were as well joined by the military police in battering the couple to a state of becoming helpless before being detained.
The residents led by the Kaazi village Local Council one chairperson John Mawanda, in the village meeting that convened immediately resolved to ban the gay couple from their village despite others proposing to wait until they are released and beat them to death for engaging in the forbidden gay act in the country.
Other residents expressed fear that the couple may have lured their children into the sodomy act.
The current penal code act prohibits any form of sexual relations between persons of the same sex. Section 145 of the Penal Code Act cap 120, outlaws any unnatural offences which are described as any sexual acts against the order of nature. The sentence once convicted gives a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
