Way of the Cross: EOC’s Bishop Kibuuka speaks tough on criminality and homosexuality

By Kabuye Ronald

The presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) in Uganda Jacinto Kibuuka has urged the public to remain in the spirituality of Easter as a way of curbing down criminality and homosexuality in the country.

Leading the mammoth of the congregation in the way of the cross prayers, on Good Friday at Mamre International Prayer Centre in Namugongo, Janda, Wakiso district, Bishop Kibuuka believes that the spirituality of Easter which includes arms giving, fasting, mortification and prayer will help curb down criminality in the country.

Bishop Kibuuka also urged Ugandan to pray for Uganda’s president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni so that he wisely and ardently sign the Anti-Homosexuality bill 2023 into law.

“We are praying for you dear president and we pray that you bravely sign this bill into law so that Ugandans are protected especially the young ones. If they are protected then God will also protect you from the snares of the evil and the attacks of the evil people.

President we are with you as you make this paramount signing of the Anti-homosexuality bill.” Said Bishop Kibuuka

Bishop Kibuuka also scoffed at those against the Anti-homosexuality bill saying that Uganda is a sovereign and religious state and therefore it should be left to act autonomously. Adding that it’s ok for the president to sign the bill for the salvation and protection of Ugandans.
