By Mukembo Wilfred

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Bukwo District Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka has confirmed that five people arrested on suspicion of Firearms trafficking to Uganda have escaped from the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) brigade.

On Thursday, last week five suspects were arrested in Bukwo district on suspicion of trafficking firearms from Kenya to Uganda and handed them to UPDF which transferred them to Nakapiripirit for safe Custody at 407 UPDF brigade.

The news of their escape shocked Mpimbaza who said that he got to learn that suspects had returned to their homes in Bukwo district were they were arrested from.

Major Isaac Oware, the UPDF 3rd Division Spokesperson confirmed the escape of the suspects before adding that some had been rearrested and they are investigating to establish whether there was an inside dealing in their escape
