Housing Finance Bank, UNAA Convention enter a Partnership on Investment Solutions for the Diaspora community.

Housing finance Bank Uganda has entered a partnership with the Uganda North American Association UNAA Convention through which customers are able to subscribe for their investments, UNAA registration subscription fees at all housing finance bank branches countrywide. 

While addressing the media, UNAA President, Henrietta Wamala said, “The features housing finance bank are offering to us a go beyond just Banking and into advisory services on the various services as diaspora and also because of the ease that they give our customers when it comes to online banking, I can tell that I feel safe because I can transact anywhere and on my personal accounts will be safe.”

“We, the diaspora family, we appreciate the online Banking supported by Housing Finance Bank which is safe and easier for us to send money back home through safe hands”. Wamala added.

Michael Mugabi, the Housing Finance Managing Director said, As an indigenous bank, they take pride in strategic partnerships since they enable them to provide a wide range of financial solutions to their customers and those in the diaspora.

 “We have a large community of Ugandans living Diaspora and this comes in a time as many are facing challenges to invest back home, we have made solutions that resonate with the needs of the diaspora and we will remain committed to our purpose to enable sustainable home ownership and financial independence for all”.  Mugabi added.

BACKGROUND: Uganda North American Association (UNAA) is the largest non-political formal association of Ugandans in the Diaspora. The organization aims at  promoting the social, cultural and economic development of the Ugandan Community in North America and beyond with over 120,000.

According to Bank of Uganda (BoU) data, Ugandans working abroad sent home a total of $1.1 billion (Shs4.2 trillion), in the twelve months to July 2022.
