The Miss Tourism Busiro County pageant has officially been launched in preparation for the upcoming Miss Tourism Buganda Kingdom grand event, set to take place on June 13th this year.

Mastula Nakitende, the county secretary and coordinator of the competition, announced that there are currently 10 contestants, with room still open for more girls from Busiro County to join the race.

She further revealed that the grand finale for the county level will be held on May 9th at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center in Entebbe.

Aloysius Ssengendo of Mutuba Ena Entebbe, the organizing body behind this year’s competitions, praised the Buganda Kingdom for initiating such a platform. He emphasized that it inspires young women to explore their cultural heritage and provides them with opportunities to become tourism ambassadors while expanding their social networks.

Speaking on behalf of Divine Salon and Bridal Center, one of the sponsors, Coach Fred Uganda advised contestants to prioritize intelligence and cultural awareness over physical appearance.

The Miss Tourism Buganda Kingdom competition includes contestants from all 18 counties of the kingdom, such as Busiro, Buddu, and Buwekula, among others.
