Bishop Banja Urges Support for Needy Children During Easter Season

By Robert Segawa

Bishop Moses Banja of Namirembe Diocese has made a heartfelt appeal to compassionate individuals to support vulnerable children during the Easter season.

Speaking this morning at Sanyu Babies’ Home, where a group of faithful had gathered to pray as part of the Way of the Cross, Bishop Banja emphasized the importance of ensuring that all children—regardless of their background—experience the joy and hope of Easter.

He noted that Easter, a season symbolizing renewal, love, and hope, presents a unique opportunity for communities to unite in making a meaningful difference in the lives of children in need. He encouraged people to give whatever they can to support these children and share the love of Christ with them.

Bishop Banja also called on Ugandans to embrace the culture of adoption, urging families to consider adopting children from orphanages so they can have a better future.

He further appealed to women facing challenges during pregnancy not to abandon their children after birth, stressing that neglecting a child is a sin and goes against Christian values.

Meanwhile, Barbara Nankya, Executive Director of Sanyu Babies’ Home, echoed the Bishop’s message. She urged individuals, families, and organizations to offer support in the form of food, clothing, and other essential items to help care for the children.
