Ugandan Boxer Abdul Ssebute Signs Three-Year Management Deal to Boost UK Professional Career

By Kabuye Ronald
Former Bantamweight National Champion and East/Central African (ABU) Regional Champion Abdul Ssebute has signed a three-year management agreement with Albion Boxing Academy Cambridge management and Nara Promotionz of Uganda to advance his professional boxing career in the United Kingdom.

Under the agreement, the management team will oversee Ssebute’s training and career development. This includes providing modern training facilities, hiring experienced trainers, and working to secure opportunities with top boxing promoters across the UK to ensure the Ugandan fighter appears on competitive fight cards.

Ssebute, who currently works as a chef at Hobson Hotel Cambridge, said the partnership marks an important turning point in his career.

“I am happy that my prayers are being answered by finally getting a proper team to promote my boxing career,” Ssebute said. “Without a proper management team, it is very difficult to progress in the business of professional boxing in the UK.”

The boxer also expressed gratitude to his employer, Hobson Hotel Cambridge, as well as his new management team and Nara Promotionz for believing in his potential and supporting his journey in professional boxing.

His manager Gary Davidson Jnr, a former boxer now working under Albion Boxing Academy Cambridge, said the team was impressed by Ssebute’s discipline and natural talent. Trainer Tony Petchell echoed the sentiment, describing the Ugandan fighter as hardworking and determined to succeed in the sport.

Representatives from Nara Promotionz were also present when the agreement was reached, including Director Lubowa Babu Hussein and Secretary Edirisa Kiyemba, who both expressed full support for the partnership and contract.

Meanwhile, Hobson Hotel Cambridge has also indicated its willingness to support and sponsor Ssebute during his fight nights as he pursues success in the ring.

The hotel management further welcomed Ugandans to visit their facilities across the United Kingdom, noting that the hotel operates several branches and is ready to host guests from the Ugandan community and beyond.
